Why are corporate plants important? Check out these benefits for your company!

Today, I decided to tackle something I’ve been thinking about for a while: setting up some plants in our office. It’s not just about making the place look nicer, it’s also about boosting morale and maybe even cleaning the air a bit. I’ve always believed that a little bit of green can make a big difference in how a place feels, you know?

First thing I did was take a good look around the office. We’ve got this big open space in the middle and a few smaller rooms for meetings and such. I thought, “Okay, where would plants not only survive but thrive?” Sunlight is key, so I looked for spots that get a decent amount of natural light without being directly under the sun all day.

Then came the fun part – picking out the plants. I wanted a mix of sizes and types, something that would add variety without being too overwhelming. I went to a local nursery, and it was a bit like being a kid in a candy store. So many options! I ended up choosing a few large ones like snake plants and peace lilies because they’re pretty low-maintenance and good for air quality. For the smaller spots, I grabbed some succulents and a couple of ferns. I figured they’d be easy enough for anyone in the office to take care of, even if they’re not exactly green-thumbed.

Getting the plants back to the office was a bit of a workout, but thankfully, a couple of my colleagues pitched in. We started with the larger plants, placing them in the corners of the main area and near the windows. We made sure to put them in pots with good drainage – don’t want any water damage to the floors. The smaller plants we spread out on desks and shelves, trying to distribute them evenly so everyone gets a bit of the green vibe.

Here’s a quick rundown of what we chose:

  • Snake Plants – Super easy to care for and great for beginners.
  • Peace Lilies – They look elegant and are known for their air-purifying qualities.
  • Succulents – Perfect for adding a bit of variety without needing too much attention.
  • Ferns – They add a nice, lush feel to the space, though they need a bit more care.

After setting everything up, we took a step back to admire our work. It really transformed the space! It felt more alive, more welcoming. I even noticed people smiling more as they walked around. It’s amazing what a few plants can do.

Keeping Them Alive

Now, the real challenge begins – keeping these plants alive. I made a simple watering schedule and put it up on the notice board. I also showed a few people how to check if a plant needs water – just stick your finger in the soil, and if it’s dry, it’s time to water. I’m hoping everyone will chip in to help keep our new green friends happy and healthy. It’s a small thing, but I think it can make a big difference in our daily work life. And honestly, it was a pretty fun project to do together!
