But then the sun, it starts getting higher in the sky. Them days get longer, warmer, you know. That’s when you gotta start paying attention. See, that sun, it starts pulling that water right out of the ground.

  • First thing you see, the grass starts looking a little droopy.
  • Not as perky as it was. That’s a sign, right there.
  • Then, you stick your finger in the ground.

If it’s all dry and crumbly, well, then you know it’s time. Time to give that grass a good drink. The Spring, she’s a thirsty time for that lawn.

Now, when is the best time to start watering lawn? Well, you don’t want to do it in the middle of the day. Nope. That sun, it’ll just take that water right back up. Best to do it early in the morning. Before the sun gets too high. That way, the water, it can sink down deep. Get to them roots where it’s needed.

You gotta feel that dirt, too. Stick your finger in there, down a couple knuckles. If it’s dry as a bone, well, that grass is hollerin’ for a drink. Don’t just sprinkle it, neither. Give it a good, long soak. Like a good rainstorm. Watering lawn in spring, that’s important, you get a good, deep watering in there.

And don’t be watering every day, neither. That ain’t good. Makes them roots lazy. They don’t go down deep looking for water. Nope, you gotta let that ground dry out a bit between waterings. Makes them roots strong, go searching for that water.

Watch for them signs, I tell ya. Grass gets a little dull looking? Footprints stay there a long time after you walk on it? That means she’s thirsty. And when you water, water good and deep. Not too often, though. Gotta teach them roots to be tough. When to start watering lawn in spring, it is a big deal for your grass.

Now, some folks, they got them fancy sprinklers. They go off all by themselves. That’s all well and good, I reckon. But you still gotta pay attention. Make sure them sprinklers are hitting all the spots. Don’t want no dry patches. And make sure they ain’t watering the sidewalk, neither. That’s just wasteful.

When to start watering lawn in spring? Watch out for these signs!

Spring, it’s a busy time. Lots to do. But don’t forget about that lawn. It’s waking up, too, after a long winter’s nap. Needs a good drink to get going. Just like us folks need our coffee in the morning!

So, keep an eye on that weather. Watch that grass. Feel that dirt. And when she needs it, give her a good, long drink. That’s the secret to a nice, green lawn. And it ain’t rocket science, neither. Just good old common sense. You don’t need no fancy degree to figure it out. Just pay attention, and that lawn will tell you what it needs. You just gotta listen. Best time to start watering lawn, well, that’s when the lawn tells you to! The spring is here, your lawn need water.

If you see the grass turning a little brown, or it don’t spring back up when you walk on it, that’s the grass talking to you. It’s saying, “Hey, I’m thirsty!” Don’t ignore it! Get that hose out and give it a good soak. Or turn on them sprinklers if you got ’em. And when to start watering lawn in spring, just listen to your grass.

  • Don’t water in the heat of the day. The water will just evaporate.
  • Water early in the morning, or in the evening if you have to.
  • Give the lawn a good, deep watering. Don’t just sprinkle it.
  • Let the ground dry out a bit between waterings.

And remember, every lawn is different. Some need more water than others. Depends on the kind of grass you got, the kind of soil you got, how much sun it gets. Lots of things. So you gotta pay attention to your own lawn. Don’t just do what your neighbor does. His lawn might be different than yours. I know watering lawn in spring is hard to know, but it’s easy.

The best time to start watering lawn, it really just depends. Just remember to listen to your grass and you will be fine. When to start watering lawn in spring, if your grass is green, then it is fine!
