You see, these snake plant things, they are tough, like an old mule. But even a mule gets sick sometimes, right? So, I’m gonna tell you all about what to look for when your snake plant ain’t feeling so good. It ain’t hard, just gotta use your eyes and your nose, mostly your eyes.
Brown Spots
Now, if you see them snake plant diseases pictures, you might notice some brown spots. These spots, they ain’t normal. It might look like it has some brown tips or brown spots. Or it has some red leaf spot. The leaves might be so dry like the husk of corn in the late summer. If they are brown and crispy, they ain’t got enough water.

Yellow Leaves
And yellow, oh boy, yellow leaves is not a good thing. If that plant is turning yellow, that means something real wrong. If the leaves are all mushy, it could be root rot, that you give it too much water. They get soggy roots and just give up.

When you see those roots are all mushy and smell bad, that plant is in big trouble. And you need to change the soil for it and cut off the bad roots. Remember, don’t water it too much.
White Spots
Sometimes you see these little white spots on the leaves. It’s like the plant got the measles or something. Those are probably mealybugs. They suck the juice outta the plant, make it weak.

Bad Smell
Now, if you smell something stinky coming from that pot, that ain’t good neither. That means the roots are rotting. That soil is all soggy and nasty. You gotta change that soil, get some fresh, dry dirt in there. And cut off them rotten roots, they ain’t no good to nobody.

Don’t Water Too Much
Most folks, they kill these snake plants with kindness. They water them too much. These plants, they like to dry out between waterings. Just like you don’t want to stand in water all day, neither do these plants.
You stick your finger in that dirt. If it’s dry, then you water it. If it’s wet, leave it be. It ain’t rocket science. Just use your common sense. And don’t give it too much water.
Keep an Eye on It
