Okay, so I finally made it down to Turks and Caicos. Needed a serious break, you know? Place I was staying was alright, nothing fancy, but who cares, I was there for the beach, right?
First thing I always worry about, maybe it’s weird, is the water temperature. I hate, absolutely hate, jumping into freezing water. Ruins the whole vibe for me. Everyone talks about how warm the water is in Turks, but talk is cheap. I needed to know for myself.

So, the first morning, I’m itching to get down there. I tried checking my phone, you know, look up the official temp. But the internet was kinda dodgy, kept dropping out. Typical. Gave up on that pretty quick.
Finding out the real deal
Plan B. Just head down to the sand. I figured the people working there, renting chairs or whatever, they’d know. Found a guy setting up umbrellas near Grace Bay. Seemed like he’d been there a while.
Walked over, asked him straight up, “Hey, what’s the water like today? Actually warm?”
He kinda laughed, looked at me like I was crazy. Said something like, “Man, it’s always warm. Like a bathtub.” Sounded good, but you know, gotta test it yourself.
So, I kicked off my sandals, walked to the edge. The water looked incredible, that crazy blue colour you see in pictures. Waded in slowly. First my feet, then up to my knees. And yeah, he wasn’t kidding. It wasn’t just ‘not cold’, it was properly, comfortably warm. No sharp intake of breath, no shivering. Just… nice.
I spent ages just floating around that first day. It felt amazing. Seriously, that warm water just melts away whatever junk you’re carrying around in your head. Forget the weather apps and numbers, just getting in was the only way to know. It was perfect.
