Okay, so, today I want to share my experience with the 20-20-20 water-soluble fertilizer. I’ve been using it for a couple of seasons now, and I’ve got some thoughts.
First off, I grabbed a bag of this stuff about two years ago. I remember seeing it at the store and thinking, “Hey, this 20-20-20 mix sounds like a good all-around fertilizer.” I was mainly using it along with my iron treatments, you know, just trying to keep everything nice and green.

So, I started out by mixing the fertilizer. Pretty simple, really. You just scoop out the powder. Then I took a gallon of water and poured the fertilizer in. Then you gotta stir it up until it all dissolves. It’s kind of like making a weird, plant-food cocktail. I do want to say that this is some strong stuff, though, so keep that in mind.
After mixing, I hooked up my fertilizer injector to the hose. That thing is a lifesaver. It basically sucks up the fertilizer mix and shoots it out with the water, so you’re watering and feeding your plants at the same time. Saves a ton of time. It’s not too hard, just make sure you read the instructions so that you don’t do anything wrong.
- Grab a bag of 20-20-20 fertilizer.
- Mix it with water.
- Stir until it dissolves.
- Use a fertilizer injector.
- Water and feed at the same time.
I used this 20-20-20 mix on a bunch of different plants in my greenhouse. I’ve got some flowers, some veggies, you name it. For the most part, everything seemed to like it. They grew pretty well, and the colors were vibrant. Although I did notice that some plants, like my gardenias, they’re a bit picky. They didn’t seem to love the full-strength mix, so I had to dilute it a bit for them.
Now, I’m at a point where I’m deciding if I should buy another 25 lbs bag of this fertilizer. It’s been good, but I’m always open to trying new things. It does get the job done, and it’s easy to use. Plus, the injector makes things so much simpler.
Honestly, using this fertilizer has been a pretty smooth ride. There’s always a bit of trial and error with gardening, but this 20-20-20 mix has been reliable. I just wanted to share that with all of you in case you are looking for a good fertilizer.
