Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this Tradition Flowerpot VP7 pendant light for a while now. It’s got that retro vibe, you know? I saw it online, it comes in a bunch of colors, but I went for the light blue one. I figured it’d look super chill in my dining room.
The box arrived, and let me tell you, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Ripped that thing open. It was packed pretty good, lots of padding and stuff. I pulled out the light, and man, it’s even nicer in person. Smooth finish, not too heavy.

Now, I’m no electrician, but I’ve hung a few lights in my time. I got out my trusty ladder, turned off the power at the breaker box (safety first, people!), and started taking down the old light fixture. That was kind of a pain, it was one of those old, dusty things. Anyway, I got it down eventually.
Next, I had to figure out the wiring for the Flowerpot. There were these little diagrams in the instruction booklet, they looked a little complicated at first, but I figured it out. There were a couple of wires to connect, nothing too crazy. I used some wire connectors to make sure everything was secure.
Then came the moment of truth. I attached the mounting bracket to the ceiling, which was a bit of a struggle. I had to hold the bracket in one hand and the screwdriver in the other while reaching above me, which caused me to almost slip from the ladder. But I managed it, just took a little patience. And then I finally lifted the Flowerpot and connected it to the bracket. It felt so good to get it up there!
I flipped the power back on and held my breath. Clicked the light switch, and bam! It worked! The light blue color is so calming, and it gives off this really nice, warm glow. It totally changes the whole feel of the room.
Here’s the breakdown of what I did:
- Unboxed the light, checked out all the parts.
- Turned off the power. Safety is important!
- Took down the old light fixture. This took some time.
- Figured out the wiring.
- Connected the wires using wire connectors.
- Attached the mounting bracket to the ceiling.
- Hung the Flowerpot VP7.
- Turned the power back on and admired my handiwork!
I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s exactly the kind of vibe I was going for. Might even get another one for the kitchen counter! Honestly, if you’re thinking about getting one of these, just do it. You won’t regret it. It’s not just a light, it’s like a piece of art. Plus, you can choose from a wide selection of finishes. I’m thinking of using one or two pendants to illuminate a dining space or kitchen counter.
