Today, I moved a bunch of mulch. It was a real workout, let me tell you. I had this huge pile of mulch delivered last week, and it was just sitting there, staring at me. So, I finally decided to tackle it.
First, I grabbed my trusty shovel and wheelbarrow. I knew this was going to be a long day, so I put on some old clothes and my work gloves. I started shoveling the mulch into the wheelbarrow, and boy, was it heavy! Each scoop felt like a ton, and I was sweating buckets in no time.

I wheeled the first load over to the garden beds and started spreading it around. I had to make sure it was evenly distributed, not too thick, not too thin. You know, just right. It was kind of therapeutic, in a way, seeing the mulch transforming the look of the beds.
- Shoveled mulch into the wheelbarrow
- Wheeled it to the garden beds
- Spread mulch evenly
I went back and forth, back and forth, shoveling, wheeling, and spreading. It felt like I was in a never-ending cycle. My arms started to ache, my back was sore, and I was pretty sure I pulled a muscle somewhere. But I kept going, determined to finish what I started.
After a few hours, I finally emptied the last of the mulch pile. I was exhausted, but also pretty darn proud of myself. The garden beds looked amazing, all neat and tidy with their fresh layer of mulch. It was definitely worth the effort.
So, yeah, that’s how I spent my day – shoveling mulch. Not the most glamorous activity, but hey, someone’s gotta do it. And you know what? I actually felt pretty good afterward. Like I accomplished something. Plus, I got a good workout in, so that’s a bonus!
