Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with Westcott scissors:
So, I needed some new scissors. Nothing fancy, just something to cut paper, open packages, you know, the usual stuff. I’d been using some old, dull scissors that were basically tearing everything instead of cutting, so it was time for an upgrade.

I went to the store, not really knowing what I was looking for. There are so many scissors! Different sizes, different handles, different…everything. I felt a little lost, to be honest.
I grabbed a few different pairs, just feeling them out. Some were too small, some felt flimsy, and some were just plain uncomfortable. I even tried those spring-loaded ones, but they didn’t quite work out. It was way more complicated than I thought it would be!
Then, I spotted the Westcott ones. They had these bright blue handles, so they kinda stood out. I picked them up, and they immediately felt…right. You ever have that happen? Like, the weight was good, the handles were comfortable, and they just felt solid in my hand.
Trying Them Out
I did that thing where you pretend to cut with them in the air. Snip snip. Felt smooth. I decided to take a chance and bought them.
Back home, the real test began. I had a stack of mail to open, some cardboard boxes to break down, and a few crafting projects in the works. I even had to open one of those annoying plastic clamshell packages. You know, the ones that you practically need a chainsaw to get into?
- Mail: Sliced right through envelopes like butter. No more ragged edges!
- Cardboard: No problem. I cut up a bunch of boxes for recycling, and it was surprisingly easy.
- Crafting: I was cutting out some felt shapes, and the scissors were super precise.
- Clamshell Package: Okay, this was the big one. And…success! I mean, it still wasn’t fun, but the scissors did their job without bending or feeling like they were going to break.
I’ve been using these Westcott scissors for a few weeks now, and I’m still happy. They haven’t gotten dull, they still feel comfortable, and they just work. I even used them to trim some loose threads on a shirt. Multi-purpose, I guess!
It might sound silly to be this excited about scissors, but seriously, it’s the little things. Having a tool that does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well, makes a difference. So, yeah, I’m a fan of Westcott scissors. I found them, bought them, tested them, and have used them a ton.
