Man, I’ve been working on my garden lately, and let me tell you, my rose bushes were getting out of control! Beautiful, sure, but those thorns are brutal. I decided it was time to get some serious protection, so I started looking into rose bush gardening gloves.
I found a bunch of different kinds, but I ended up going with a pair that looked pretty heavy-duty. These gloves are made of thick cowhide leather, and they go all the way up to my elbows. I figured, the more coverage, the better, right?

- I slipped them on, and they felt a little stiff at first, but that’s to be expected with new leather.
- I started with some light pruning, just to get a feel for them. The fingertips and palms have extra padding, which is great for gripping my shears and not getting poked.
- Then I moved on to the bigger branches. I was able to reach deep into the bushes without worrying about getting scratched up. These gloves are seriously tough!
- The cool part is that even though they are made of cowhide leather, they are still pretty breathable. My hands didn’t get all sweaty like they do with some other gloves I have used in the past.
After a few hours of working, my rose bushes were looking much better, and I didn’t have a single scratch on me. These gloves are a lifesaver! I’m so glad I decided to invest in a good pair. It made the whole process of pruning and shaping my rose bushes a lot easier and a lot less painful. I’m definitely going to keep using these for all my thorny gardening tasks.
