Pothos Plant Temperature Tolerance: Your Ideal Temperature Guide
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Pothos plant, this thing, it likes it warm, you know? Just like me, getting old, bones don’t like the cold.

Pothos Plant Temperature

This pothos plant temperature, best if it’s like, you know, when it’s nice and sunny outside. Not too hot, not too cold. Like a good summer day, around 70 to 90 degrees. That’s what them fancy folks say, Fahrenheit. I don’t know much about that, but it’s when you ain’t sweating buckets, but you ain’t shivering neither.

Now, these plants, they come from some faraway island, real hot and sticky. That’s why they like it warm, like in them rain forests. This pothos plant, it’s a real island baby. So you gotta keep it warm. Like them island folks, they don’t like the cold neither. It is a plant that is like the warm air.

Keep It Warm, But Not Too Hot

They say it can handle even up to 100 degrees. That’s hotter than a summer day here! But you gotta give it lots of water then, and keep the air all, what’s the word, damp like. Like after a good rain, you know? Sticky air. This pothos plant temperature thing, it’s all about keeping it like it’s back home on that island.

Now, if it gets too cold, like below 50, that’s no good. That’s like, winter cold. Too cold for me, too cold for this plant. You see the leaves all droopy, or turning funny colors? That’s when you know it’s not happy. Probably too cold, or maybe not enough water. This pothos, if you take care it, it will grow big and strong.

  • Keep it warm, like a good summer day.
  • Give it water, especially when it’s hot.
  • Don’t let it get too cold, like in winter.
  • If it looks sad, check the pothos plant temperature and water.

Winter Time For Pothos

Winter time, you gotta be extra careful. Keep it inside, away from them cold drafts. Around 60 degrees is good for it then. That’s like, a cool room, but not freezing. Let it rest a bit, like how we all slow down in winter. My old bones sure do. This pothos plant temperature in winter, just keep it cozy, not freezing.

This plant, it likes the air kind of wet. Not dry like in winter with the heater on. So maybe put it near other plants, they kind of help each other out. Or you can spray it with water sometimes, just a little mist. Don’t go drowning it though! Just a little something to keep it happy. The temperature is good.

Now, I ain’t no plant expert, just an old lady who likes her greens. But I’ve had this pothos for a while now, and it’s doing alright. Just gotta pay attention to it, like you do with anything you care for. You do these things and the pothos plant will be happy in your house.

Don’t Let It Freeze

Don’t go leaving it outside when it’s freezing. Bring it in, keep it warm. Like I said, it don’t like the cold. And don’t put it right next to a hot heater either, that’ll dry it out too much. Just find a nice spot, not too hot, not too cold. This is the best pothos plant temperature.

Pothos Plant Temperature Tolerance: Your Ideal Temperature Guide

If you see it getting too leggy, all long and stringy with not many leaves, that means it ain’t getting enough light. Move it closer to a window, but not right in the sun. It likes bright light, but not the hot sun beating down on it all day. This plant, it is not too hard to take care it.

So, just remember, this pothos plant temperature, it’s all about keeping it warm, but not too hot. Give it some water, but don’t drown it. Keep the air a little damp, like it’s back home on that island. And don’t let it freeze! Do all that, and your pothos will be happy as a clam. And you’ll have a nice green plant to look at, even when it’s cold and gray outside.

I hope you can keep your pothos plant growing. It is good to have some green in the house. It makes me happy to see things growing.
