So, I’ve been wanting to add some serious green to my place, like, big plants. You know, the kind that make a statement. But my local nursery is pretty limited, and honestly, kinda pricey. So I decided to try my luck online.
The Hunt Begins
First, I spent a good chunk of time just browsing. I opened like a million tabs, comparing different websites. I quickly learned that “big plants” means different things to different people. Some places considered a 3-foot plant “big,” while others had stuff that could practically reach my ceiling!

Narrowing it Down
I made a list of what I was looking for:
- Size: Definitely something over 4 feet tall.
- Type: I’m leaning towards leafy, tropical-looking things. Fiddle leaf figs, monsteras, that kind of vibe.
- Price: Gotta stay within budget, obviously.
- Shipper location:I found the closer to home, the lower the risk.
I started filtering my searches based on that. I also paid close attention to the reviews. I wanted to see what other people’s experiences were like, especially with shipping such large, delicate items.
Taking the Plunge
After a few days of on-and-off searching, I found a couple of contenders. I ended up going with a site that had a good selection of large monsteras, decent prices, and mostly positive reviews. They also had detailed information about their shipping process, which reassured me. I ordered one.
The Waiting Game (and a Little Worry)
This was the hardest part! I was constantly checking the tracking info. I worried about the plant being stuck in a box for too long, or getting damaged during transit.
I found the delivery man put the big box outside my gate! I immediately took my tools and started to unpack it.
Success!
It arrived! The box was HUGE, but the plant was packaged really well. It was wrapped in layers of protective material, and the pot was secured to prevent it from shifting around. I carefully unpacked it, and…wow. It was even bigger and more beautiful than I expected!

It’s now happily sitting in my living room, making the whole space feel more alive.
I watered it and cleaned the leaves carefully. I gave it a new pot a week later.
Overall, I’m super happy with my online big plant purchase. It took some research and patience, but it was definitely worth it.
