So, I’ve been meaning to upgrade my watering game for a while now. My old plastic watering can was cracked and, frankly, a bit of an eyesore. I decided to go for a metal watering can, hoping for something more durable and, let’s be honest, a little more aesthetically pleasing.
First, I scrolled through some online shops. I was looking for something not too big, not too small – just right for my little balcony garden. I also wanted a long spout to reach those hanging baskets easily.

My little journey
- Looked at different shapes. Some were super traditional, others more modern. I’m a sucker for the classic look, so I leaned towards those.
- Checked the material. Galvanized steel seemed like a good bet for rust resistance.
- Considered the handle. I wanted something comfortable to hold, even when the can is full.
After some searching, I found one I liked. It was a galvanized steel can with a nice, curved spout and a sturdy-looking handle. I clicked “add to cart” and waited impatiently for it to arrive.
When it finally showed up, I ripped open the box like a kid on Christmas morning. It was even better in person! The metal felt solid, and the spout was perfect. I immediately filled it up and gave my thirsty plants a good drink.
It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m still loving it. No leaks, no rust, and it looks pretty darn good sitting on my balcony. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade!
