Molly Plant Fertilizing Time: Get the Timing Right easily!

Okay, so I’ve got this Molly plant, and honestly, I’ve been kind of winging it with the fertilizing. I wasn’t really sure when the best time to feed it was, so I did some digging and experimenting. Here’s what I did:

Getting Started

First, I just observed my plant. How was it growing? Did it look kinda sad or super vibrant? Mine was somewhere in the middle – some new growth, but the older leaves were a bit… meh.

Molly Plant Fertilizing Time: Get the Timing Right easily!

The Experiment Begins

I decided to start fertilizing, but I took it slow. Here is how I did it, I started with the following things:

  • Bought some basic liquid fertilizer. Nothing fancy, just a general-purpose one.
  • Started with a reduced solution for liquid fertilizer to see the reaction of the plant.

I started fertilizing every other watering. I mix the fertilizer into the water, making sure to follow the instructions on the bottle (very important!). I started with a reduced solution for liquid fertilizer to see the reaction of the plant.

Watch and Wait: I made sure to give the plant plenty of sunlight and to check to see the leaves and whether they are vibrant. I also touched the soil to make sure that I don’t overwater the plant.

Results

After a few weeks, I definitely noticed a difference. New leaves were coming in stronger, and the overall color of the plant seemed richer. It wasn’t a miracle overnight, but it was clear the regular fertilizing was helping.

I’ve stuck with this “every other watering” schedule, and so far, so good! I do pay attention to the seasons, though. I’ll probably fertilize less in the winter when the plant isn’t growing as much.

I think to keep a note and mark a calendar for fertilizing the plant can be helpful for myself too!
