Okay, so today I wanted to do something a bit different, something crafty. I decided to make a mini rack and shovel set. It seemed like a fun little project, and I had most of the materials just lying around.
First, I gathered my materials. I had some scrap wood from a previous project, some thin metal rods (actually old coat hangers!), some super glue, and some sandpaper. Oh, and my trusty little saw and a file.

Making the Rack
I started with the rack. I measured and cut the wood into small pieces. I wanted a simple design, nothing too fancy. Just a basic frame with some horizontal supports to hold the shovel.
- Cut two longer pieces for the vertical sides.
- Cut three shorter pieces for the horizontal supports.
After cutting, I sanded down all the edges to make them smooth and avoid splinters. Gotta be careful, you know!
Then, I glued the pieces together. I used a good amount of super glue, making sure everything was aligned properly. Clamps would have been nice, but hey, I just held it in place for a few minutes until it dried enough to stay put.
Making the Shovel
Next up, the shovel. This was a bit trickier. I took one of the metal rods (those poor coat hangers!) and flattened one end using a hammer. I just kept banging it on a hard surface until it was nice and flat, like a mini shovel head.
Then, I used the file to shape the flattened end. I rounded the edges a bit and made sure it looked, well, shovel-like. This took a little while, but I think it turned out pretty good!
For the shovel handle, I used another piece of the metal rod. I simply glued it to the back of the flattened shovel head. Again, lots of super glue!
Once everything was dry, I tested it out. The shovel fit perfectly on the rack! It’s not exactly heavy-duty, but it’s perfect for, like, a tiny succulent garden or something. Or maybe just as a cute little decoration.

The whole project didn’t take too long, maybe an hour or two, including drying time. It was a fun little diversion, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
I think put the mini rack and shovel in my flowerpot,It looks great!
