Looking for the Best Pruning Shears for Lavender? Check Out These Reviews!

Okay, so, I’ve got this lavender in my garden, and let me tell you, it’s starting to look a bit wild. Time to give it a good trim, but I wasn’t sure what kind of shears to use. I mean, you don’t want to go at it with something too big and clunky, right? You gotta be precise with lavender.

So, I started poking around, asking my gardening buddies, and checking out some online stores. I saw an ad saying “Profiteer van aanbiedingen van pruning shears in klussen gereedschap op Amazon,” which I guess means there are some good deals on pruning shears on Amazon. Didn’t really help me narrow it down, though.

Then I remembered I had a couple of different shears in my shed. One was a big pair of regular pruning shears, the kind you’d use on rose bushes or something. The other was a smaller pair, with thin, pointy blades. They looked kinda like those fancy scissors a tailor might use.

Trying out the different shears

First, I tried the big pruning shears. It felt a bit overkill. I mean, lavender stems are pretty delicate, and these things are made for thicker branches. I managed to trim a few stems, but it felt clumsy and I was worried I might damage the plant.

Next, I grabbed those smaller shears with the needle-like tips. Now we’re talking! These things were perfect. They were light and easy to handle, and those sharp, pointy blades let me get right in there and snip exactly where I wanted. I could even shape the lavender a bit, which was a nice bonus.

  • Big Pruning Shears: Too bulky, hard to be precise.
  • Small Shears with Pointy Blades: Perfect! Easy to use, precise cuts.

I ended up spending a good hour out there, just trimming away. It was actually pretty relaxing. And the lavender looked so much better afterward! Nice and tidy, and ready to keep growing strong. Those smaller shears are definitely my go-to now for lavender. If you are looking for pruning shears when lavender is planted in large areas, I think the small one will be your choice, too!

So, lesson learned: when it comes to pruning lavender, those smaller shears with the thin, pointy blades are the way to go. They’re like the perfect little tool for the job. Just thought I’d share my little experiment in case anyone else is wondering about the best way to prune their lavender. Happy gardening!
