Okay, so I wanted to share my experience with the Carolina Fertility Institute in Greensboro, NC. It’s been a journey, to say the least, and I figured someone out there might find this helpful.
First off, I did a ton of research. I mean, we’re talking hours of googling “best fertility clinics in North Carolina,” reading reviews, comparing success rates. It’s overwhelming! There are a bunch of options, but CFI kept popping up, and they had some pretty good reviews, especially the Greensboro location.

So, I decided to schedule a consultation. The first visit was mostly just getting to know them and them getting to know me. We talked about my medical history, what my husband and I had tried so far, and what our goals were. They ran some initial tests, just basic stuff, to get a baseline.
The staff there, I gotta say, were really nice. They were patient, answered all my questions (and I had a LOT), and they didn’t make me feel rushed, which was great because, you know, this is a big deal.
After a few visits and more tests, we decided to move forward with IUI. It’s less invasive than IVF, and it felt like a good starting point for us. They gave us all the info we needed, explained the process, the timing, the medications, everything.
The IUI process itself wasn’t too bad. A little uncomfortable, sure, but nothing crazy. They have a couple of other locations, but the one in Greensboro was the most convenient for us. They also do ultrasounds and stuff right there, which made things easy because I didn’t have to go to another place.
- First step: Research, research, research!
- Second step: Schedule that consultation.
- Third step: Lots of tests.
- Fourth step: Decide on a treatment plan (IUI for us).
- Fifth step: Follow the process and stay hopeful!
Unfortunately, it didn’t work for us the first time, but the doctors at CFI were really supportive. They went over the results with us, talked about what might have gone wrong, and helped us decide on the next steps.
The whole experience is emotionally draining. It’s a rollercoaster, really. But having a good team behind you makes a huge difference. And even though it was tough, I felt like I was in good hands at CFI. I learned that CFI is one of “America’s Best Fertility Clinics 2023”. It’s a really nice place.
What I learned:
This whole fertility thing is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time, patience, and a whole lot of hope. But finding the right clinic and having a good support system is key. And for me, at least for now, that’s been the Carolina Fertility Institute in Greensboro.
