Okay, here’s my post about my experience with veggie cutting scissors:
So I got these veggie cutting scissors the other day, thinking they’d be a game changer in the kitchen. I mean, who doesn’t want to save time chopping veggies? I’m always looking for ways to make cooking faster and easier, so when I saw it, I thought, why not?

First off, I tried them on some carrots. The package showed someone slicing through carrots like butter, so I was pretty pumped. I washed the carrots, got my cutting board out, and started with a big one. It was a bit tough at first, honestly, it wasn’t just cut. The scissors felt a little weird in my hand, and I had to use more force than I expected. It was awkward and I got a little worried. I used the tip of my knife on the cutting board and used the heel of the blade to come down onto the carrot. It is a bit harder than I thought.
Then I tried to cut the carrots into these thin slices. I tried to stack them up and cut, but that didn’t really work out. The carrots kept slipping, and the slices were all uneven. I ended up just cutting them one by one, which took forever and was quite a pain. I was starting to think I’d wasted my money.
- Next up, I grabbed some green onions. Now, these are way easier to cut than carrots.
- I gave the scissors a good rinse and started snipping away at the green onions.
- This was a little better! The scissors worked okay for the thinner parts, but when I got to the thicker white parts, it was back to struggling.
I also attempted to chop some bell peppers. I sliced them open, took out the seeds, and tried to cut them into strips with the scissors. It was kind of a mess. The peppers are just too thick and juicy, and the scissors couldn’t handle them. I tried using a grater and it works great! The pieces were also too big. I ended up switching back to my regular knife to finish the job.
So, after a few days of experimenting, here’s my take on these veggie cutting scissors. They might be okay for some things, like herbs or maybe green onions if you’re only using the green part. But for anything thicker or harder, like carrots or peppers, they’re just not worth it. I found myself reaching for my trusty knife and cutting board more often than not. They’re definitely not the kitchen miracle I was hoping for, but maybe I just need more practice.
Final Verdict
They’re not terrible, but they’re not amazing either. If you’re looking for something to speed up your veggie chopping, I’d say stick with a good old-fashioned knife. Maybe I’ll keep them around for herbs, but for now, they’re going back in the drawer.
