Yesterday, I wanted to plant some flowers in my backyard. It was a sunny day, so I thought it was a good chance to do some gardening.
I went to my garage and got my tools ready. I saw my old shovel there. It’s a bit rusty but still works. I started to dig holes in the soil where I wanted to put the flowers.

First, I pushed the shovel into the ground. The soil was a bit hard, so I had to use my foot to press the shovel down. Then, I lifted the soil out of the hole. I did this a few times until the hole was deep enough for the flowers.
I put the flowers into the holes and used the shovel to cover them with soil again. It was a bit tiring, but I felt good seeing the flowers in the ground. I watered them after I finished.

Gardening shovels are simple but important. They help to make holes in the ground for planting. It can be hard work, but it’s also satisfying to do.
I’m not a professional gardener, just a guy who likes to plant things sometimes. I find it relaxing to work in the garden. Using a shovel is part of that. It’s a basic tool, but it gets the job done.
After I finished planting, I cleaned my shovel and put it back in the garage. I looked at my garden and felt happy. It was a good day’s work.
Using a gardening shovel isn’t rocket science. I just dig, plant, and cover. But it makes me feel connected to the earth. And seeing the plants grow is a nice reward for the effort.
