Okay, so, I’ve been getting into ground orchids lately. They’re pretty cool, and I thought I’d share my experience with them.
First off, I picked out a good spot in my garden. These guys like a lot of light, so I made sure it was a sunny area. Then, I got down to the actual planting.

- Dug a hole, not too deep, just enough for the roots to fit in comfortably.
- Placed the orchid in, making sure the roots were spread out.
- Filled it back up with soil, patting it down gently.
The whole watering thing was a bit of a learning curve. I didn’t want to overdo it, but I also knew they liked to stay moist. So, I started with watering them deeply a couple of times a week. I paid attention to the weather, too. If it was really hot or dry, I’d give them a bit more.
I also tried planting some in pots. It worked out pretty well, followed the same steps, but just in containers. It’s nice because you can move them around if you need to.
Watching them grow has been really rewarding. They started to settle in after a few weeks, and I could see them getting stronger. Every time I water them or check on them, it feels like we’re getting to know each other better.
It’s not just about the watering and the sunlight, though. It’s also about taking the time to appreciate them. I like to sit by them sometimes and just enjoy their presence. They’ve added a nice touch to my garden.
So yeah, that’s my journey with ground orchids so far. It’s been fun, and I’m excited to see how they continue to grow. If you’re thinking about getting into gardening, ground orchids could be a good start. They’re not too hard to care for, and they bring a lot of joy.
