Okay, so the other day I decided I wanted to get into gardening. I’ve always wanted to grow my own veggies and flowers, but never really got around to it. But this time, I was determined! I went online and started looking for some tools to get started. I didn’t want anything too fancy, just a basic set to help me get my hands dirty.
I stumbled upon this Hape Gardening Tool Set, and it looked perfect. It’s marketed as a “starter gardening kit,” and it seemed like just what I needed. It comes with a shovel, a rake, and a trowel – the essentials, you know? And the reviews were pretty good, so I figured, why not?

I ordered the set, and it arrived a few days later. The tools felt pretty sturdy, made of bamboo and some kind of metal. They were lightweight, only about half a kilogram for the whole set, which is good because I didn’t want to be lugging around heavy stuff.
- First, I grabbed the shovel and started loosening up the soil in my backyard. It was a bit hard at first, but the shovel did a good job of breaking it up.
- Next, I used the rake to smooth out the soil and remove any big clumps or rocks. It felt good to be out there, working the soil with my hands.
- Then came the fun part – planting! I had bought some tomato and basil seeds a while back, so I decided to start with those. I used the trowel to dig small holes and carefully placed the seeds inside.
Getting Started
After planting, I watered the soil gently. I even found some little plant signs in the set, which was a nice touch. I wrote “Tomato” and “Basil” on them and stuck them in the ground next to where I planted the seeds. It’s kind of silly, but it made me feel like a real gardener!
I’ve been watering my little garden every day since then, and I’m starting to see some tiny sprouts coming up! It’s so exciting to watch them grow. This Hape set really got me started on my gardening journey, and it’s been a lot of fun so far. I’m no expert, but I’m learning as I go, and that’s what matters. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll have a whole greenhouse full of plants!
This is not just a “gardening tool set for kids”, I mean, it works fine for adults like me. If you are a beginner like me, you really should try this.
