Okay, so I wanted to make a hanging basket plant stand for my wife’s birthday. I started by looking around online to get some ideas. I saw a bunch of different designs, some were really fancy and others were pretty simple.
I decided to go with a simple design because I’m not that good at woodworking. I found a design that just used a few pieces of wood and some screws. I headed to the local hardware store and picked up all the materials I needed. I got some 2x4s for the frame, some 1x4s for the shelves, and a bunch of screws. It only cost me about $30, which was pretty good.
Back home, I laid out all the pieces and started measuring and cutting. The design I was following had a vertical frame with a couple of shelves for the baskets to hang from. I cut the 2x4s to the right length for the frame, and then I cut the 1x4s for the shelves. It was pretty straightforward, but I still managed to mess up a couple of times. Luckily, I had bought extra wood just in case.
After cutting everything, I started assembling the frame. I used wood glue and screws to put the pieces together. This was probably the hardest part because I had to make sure everything was square and level. I used a level to check each piece as I went along. Next, I attached the shelves to the frame. I spaced them out evenly so that the baskets would have enough room to hang. I used screws to attach the shelves, and I made sure they were nice and sturdy.
Once the shelves were in place, I added some hooks to hang the baskets from. I found some decorative hooks at the hardware store that looked really nice. I screwed them into the shelves, making sure they were secure.
Finally, it was time to hang the baskets. My wife had already picked out some beautiful flowers, so I carefully placed them in the baskets and hung them on the hooks. The cascading floral display adds color and charm to any space. It looked amazing! The whole thing took me about a day to build, but it was totally worth it.
