So, I noticed some of my plants were looking a bit off lately. A bunch of leaves were turning yellow, and it didn’t look good. I mean, I’m no plant expert, but even I know that’s not a healthy sign.
First, I tried to figure out what was going on. Was I overwatering them? Underwatering? I played detective, checking the soil moisture and trying to remember when I last watered each plant. Some pots felt bone dry, others were still damp. So it might be a water issue.

Then I thought about sunlight. Maybe they weren’t getting enough light? I moved a few plants around, trying to find a sunnier spot for them. It’s tricky in my apartment, the sunlight only comes in strong through one window, the others don’t let in much light.
I also wondered if they needed some extra nutrients. I hadn’t fertilized them in a while, so I mixed up some basic fertilizer solution. I added that to the water the next time I watered them. It was a bit of a guess, hoping it would help and not make things worse. The yellow leaves were really bothering me, so I decided to just trim them off. I read somewhere that it helps the plant focus on the healthy parts. I snipped away carefully, trying not to damage the stems. It felt a bit weird cutting off the leaves, but I guess it had to be done.
Here’s what I did step-by-step:
- Checked water levels – some plants were too dry, others too wet.
- Moved plants around to get more sunlight.
- Gave them some fertilizer to boost nutrients.
- Trimmed off the yellow leaves.
Honestly, it’s still a work in progress. Some plants seem to be doing better, but others are still struggling. I guess it’s all about trial and error. I’m just trying my best to keep these plants alive and happy. They say plants can improve air quality, but I still don’t quite believe it. It’s definitely not a quick fix, and I’m not even sure if I’m doing everything right. But hey, at least I’m trying, right? It’s all part of the learning process, I suppose.
