Flowerpot VP 10 Design: A Look at This Iconic Lamp and Where to Find It!

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this thing called the Flowerpot VP10, and I gotta say, it’s pretty neat. I saw it online and thought it looked cool, so I got one to see what the fuss was about.

First off, I had to get my hands on this lamp. It wasn’t at my usual go-to place, Boo Lighting, but I found it somewhere else. It’s a suspension lamp, which means you hang it from the ceiling. I started by figuring out where to put it in my room. I wanted it somewhere it could really shine, you know? So, I picked a spot right above my little reading nook.

Then came the actual hanging part. I turned off the power – safety first, always. I used the ceiling hook that came with the lamp and carefully screwed it into the ceiling. I made sure it was super secure because the last thing I wanted was this thing crashing down.

Next, I got the lamp ready. It has these two shiny parts, the lampshades, that face each other. They’re supposed to bounce the light around, which I thought was a pretty smart idea. I wired it up, which wasn’t too hard since I’ve done this kind of thing before. Just connecting a few wires and making sure everything was tucked in nicely.

With the lamp all set up, I flipped the power back on and switched on the light. Boom! The room lit up, and it looked awesome. The way the light reflects between the two shades gives off this really soft, warm glow. It’s perfect for my reading nook, not too bright but just enough to see clearly.

I played around with it a bit more, adjusting the height to get the light just right. It’s only 16 cm, so it’s not huge, but it makes a big difference in the room. I got mine in a color that matches my decor, which is a nice touch. There are like 14 colors to choose from, so there’s something for everyone.

Here are some things I did step by step:

  • Finding the Lamp: I found this Flowerpot VP10 lamp at a store. It wasn’t available at my usual place, Boo Lighting.
  • Choosing the Spot: I decided to hang it above my reading nook to make the area look nice and cozy.
  • Installing the Hook: I turned off the power and screwed in the ceiling hook that came with the lamp, making sure it was really secure.
  • Wiring the Lamp: I connected the wires of the lamp, which was pretty easy since I’ve done it before.
  • Turning It On: I flipped the power back on, switched on the light, and it made my reading nook look awesome.
  • Adjusting the Height: I played around with the height of the lamp to get the lighting just right for reading.

I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s become one of my favorite things in the room. It’s not just a lamp; it feels like a piece of art. Apparently, it was designed back in 1968 by some guy named Verner Panton, and it was a big deal during the Flower Power movement. Pretty cool history, huh?

My Thoughts

Honestly, I think this Flowerpot VP10 is a great addition to my place. It’s simple, looks stylish, and does a good job lighting up my space. Plus, knowing a bit about its history makes it even more interesting. If you’re looking for a unique lamp that’s also practical, I’d say give this one a try. It’s definitely worth it.
