Flowerpot Tree DIY Project: Build Your Own with These Simple Steps!

Okay, here’s my post about how I made a flowerpot tree:

Yesterday, I saw a cute little Christmas tree decoration at the store, but it was pretty pricey. I thought, “Hey, I bet I could make something like that myself!” So, I decided to give it a try. I remembered seeing some tutorials online about making Christmas trees out of flower pots, and that seemed like a fun project.

Flowerpot Tree DIY Project: Build Your Own with These Simple Steps!

First, I gathered my supplies. I already had some old flower pots lying around from my summer gardening. I picked out three pots in different sizes—small, medium, and large. I also grabbed some green paint, a brush, some glue, and a bunch of old Christmas ornaments and garland I wasn’t using anymore.

I started by painting the flower pots. I gave each one a couple of coats of green paint to make them look like a tree. It was a bit messy, but I covered my table with some old newspapers, so it wasn’t too bad. I waited for the paint to dry completely, which took a few hours. I took that time to watch some TV and relax.

Once the pots were dry, I stacked them on top of each other to create the tree shape. I put the largest pot on the bottom, then the medium one, and finally the smallest one on top. I used some strong glue to stick them together. I made sure they were centered and stable.

Now came the fun part—decorating! I wrapped some garland around each pot, starting from the bottom and working my way up. I secured it with a bit of glue here and there. Then, I added the ornaments. I hung them from the garland and glued a few directly onto the pots. I also had a star-shaped tree topper, which I glued to the top of the smallest pot.

  • Green paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Strong glue
  • Garland
  • Christmas ornaments
  • Star tree topper

And there you have it—my homemade flowerpot Christmas tree! It turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. It’s not perfect, but it was a fun project, and it saved me some money. Plus, it’s unique and made with love. I placed it on my mantel, and it looks really festive.

I’m pretty proud of my little flowerpot tree. It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have beautiful decorations. Sometimes, a little DIY project is all you need.
