I tried to make a chrome flowerpot recently. I started with browsing what’s on sale online.
I browsed through these online shops, and found lots of chrome flower pots, but most of them were either too expensive or just not my style. There’s this one pot, a silver ceramic one, going for about 48 bucks. It looked kinda nice but was still a bit over my budget.

Then I saw another one, a shiny, crushed diamond mirrored planter, selling for around 27 dollars. This one caught my eye, but I wasn’t sure about the whole crushed diamond vibe.
- Round Sleek Silver Ceramic Centerpiece Planter Pot – $47.99
- Crushed Diamond Mirrored Planter – $26.99
- Chrome Cylinder Planter – $225.00
Decided to DIY It
Since I couldn’t really find what I was looking for, I decided to make one myself. I got a regular ceramic flower pot from my storage. And I also found a can of chrome spray paint.
I cleaned the pot thoroughly, made sure it was dry, and then went outside to spray it. I applied a couple of coats, waiting for each coat to dry before applying the next. It was a bit of a messy process, but pretty straightforward. And the drying time was a pain in the butt.
The Result
After letting it dry completely, I got a pretty decent-looking chrome flowerpot. It’s not perfect, a few spots where the paint didn’t stick well, but overall, it looks quite nice. It’s got that shiny, modern look I was going for, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
So, that’s my little DIY project. It turned out better than I expected, and I saved some money too. Plus, I got to brag about making it myself, which is always a bonus. That’s the story of my homemade chrome flowerpot, a bit rough around the edges, but it’s mine, and I like it.
