Flower of Fertility: Does it Really Boost Your Chances?

Okay, let’s talk about this “flower of fertility” thing. I’m not really a superstitious person, but hey, when you’re trying to grow your family, you’ll try just about anything, right? So, my partner and I, we’ve been on this journey to have a kid, and it’s been… well, let’s just say it’s been a journey.

I started digging around online, you know, just to see what’s out there. And I kept seeing stuff about flowers and fertility. Apparently, there’s a whole world of symbolism around flowers and their supposed powers. Peonies, lilies, roses – these are just some of the flowers people say can boost your chances of getting pregnant. It’s like, in ancient China and Japan, peonies were a big deal for fertility. Who knew?

Flower of Fertility: Does it Really Boost Your Chances?

I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, even if it’s just a placebo effect, having some beautiful flowers around can’t hurt, right? So I went to a local flower shop and talked to the florist. I felt kind of awkward, like, “Hey, I need some fertility flowers, please.” But she was cool about it and suggested a few options. I ended up getting a mix of red roses, some white lilies, and even a few sprigs of red clover. Red clover, because it makes the soil more fertile, so maybe it works for humans, too? I don’t know the logic, but I’m going with it.

I put the flowers in a vase on our dining table, where we’d see them every day. And you know what? It actually did make the room feel more… vibrant, I guess? It’s like the flowers were giving off this positive energy. Or maybe it was just me, hoping they were working their magic.

Anyway, I also started reading more about these “fertility flowers.” I learned that it’s not just about having the flowers around. Some people make teas or essences from them. I even found some that use the greek word for fertility and tried to make some flower essence. There were even some suggestions about putting certain flowers under your bed or wearing them as a charm. I didn’t go that far, but I did keep those flowers fresh and made sure they were always in sight.

Now, I can’t say for sure if the flowers actually did anything to help us conceive. It’s not like there’s scientific proof for this stuff. But I will say that having those flowers around, and kind of believing in their symbolism, it did make me feel more hopeful. It was like a little daily reminder to stay positive and keep trying.

  • I kept those flowers in our home for months.
  • I replaced them whenever they started to wilt.
  • I even started to enjoy the ritual of it all – picking out new flowers, arranging them in the vase, and just appreciating their beauty.

And guess what? After a while, we finally got that positive pregnancy test! Was it the flowers? Probably not. But were they a part of our journey? Absolutely. They were a symbol of hope, a source of beauty, and a reminder that even when things are tough, there’s always something to look forward to.

So, if you’re on your own fertility journey, maybe give the flower thing a try. It might not be a magic bullet, but it could bring a little extra positivity into your life. And who knows, maybe those ancient folks were onto something after all.
