I saw this thing called a five-blade scissors online the other day, and I thought, “Wow, that’s gotta be quicker for cutting up stuff.” So, I grabbed one to try it out. I mean, five blades? It’s gotta be faster than one, right?
First off, I got the scissors. They looked kinda weird, all those blades lined up. I decided to test them out on some paper first. I took a sheet of regular printer paper and started snipping. It felt a bit strange, like the scissors were heavier than normal ones. But, hey, they cut through the paper just fine. I was making these thin little strips, way faster than I could with my old single-blade scissors.

The Real Test
Then I moved on to something a bit tougher – chives. I love cooking, and chopping chives always takes a while. I gathered a bunch of them, lined them up, and went at it with the five-blade scissors. This is where things got interesting.
- The first few snips were okay. I was cutting through multiple chives at once.
- But then, the chives started getting stuck between the blades. It was like they were clogging up the whole operation.
- I had to stop and pull out the stuck bits, which was kind of a pain.
- In the end, it probably took me just as long to chop the chives as it would have with regular scissors.
So, yeah, the five-blade scissors are kind of a mixed bag. They work great for paper, but for chives? Not so much. I guess it’s not always true that more is better. I might stick to my old scissors for now, at least when it comes to kitchen duty.
I also tried using the scissors on other things. Snipping fabric? Kinda worked. Cutting coupons from a flyer? Super easy. It seems like these scissors are good for some tasks and not so great for others. If you need to shred paper fast, they’re your best friend. But if you’re dealing with anything that might get stuck, you might wanna pass.
Overall, it was a fun little experiment. I wouldn’t say these scissors are a must-have, but they’re definitely interesting. Maybe they need a bit of a redesign to deal with the clogging issue. Until then, I’ll probably just use them for specific jobs and keep my trusty single-blade scissors around for everything else.
