So, the other day, I decided to get my hands dirty and start this little project called “fertile flower.” Sounds fancy, huh? It wasn’t as complicated as it sounds. The whole idea was to see if I could actually grow something that looked halfway decent, and maybe, just maybe, something I could brag about a little.
First, I went and got some flower seeds. No clue what kind, just grabbed whatever looked colorful on the package. Then, I found an old pot lying around. It wasn’t pretty, but it would do the job. I filled it with some soil from the backyard. Figured it’s dirt, how complicated can it be, right?

Next up, I poked some holes in the soil with my finger – super technical, I know. I dropped a few seeds into each hole and covered them up. I gave the whole thing a good watering, making sure the soil was nice and damp. I put it by the sunniest window in my house and, this is the hard part, started to wait.
- Day 1-3: Nothing. Just stared at a pot of dirt. Starting to think this was a terrible idea.
- Day 4: Still nothing. Now I’m wondering if I even put the seeds in right side up. Do seeds have a right side up?
- Day 5: Wait a minute… is that something? Yep, a tiny, little green sprout! I did a little happy dance right there.
- Day 6-10: More sprouts! They’re actually growing! I’m feeling like a plant-growing god.
- Day 11 onwards: The plants are getting bigger and starting to look like actual plants. I keep watering them and moving the pot around to get the best sun.
And guess what? They actually started to flower! Small flowers, yeah, but still flowers! It felt really good, seeing something I planted grow into something beautiful.
It’s not perfect, and I’m sure a real gardener would have some critiques, but you know what? I’m pretty proud of my little “fertile flower” project. It was a fun experiment, and I learned a few things along the way. Most importantly, I learned that even I can grow something from a tiny seed, and that’s pretty darn cool.
