Okay, so, I’m super stoked to share this little DIY project I tackled last week. It’s all about bringing those cozy fall vibes indoors with some awesome burgundy floral arrangements. I’m no pro, but I had a blast, and I think they turned out pretty darn good!
First things first, I hit up my local farmers market. Gotta support local, right? I was on the hunt for anything and everything burgundy. Dahlias were a must, of course, and I snagged some beautiful mums, some funky looking berries, and a bunch of greenery to fill it all out. Honestly, I just grabbed whatever caught my eye and had that deep, rich color I was going for.

Then, I raided my stash of vases. I’ve got a thing for collecting vases, big ones, small ones, you name it. I decided on a mix of sizes and shapes to give the arrangements some variety. Found this cool ceramic one I forgot I had!
Next up, the fun part: arranging! I started by trimming all the stems at an angle – that’s supposed to help them soak up more water, or so I’ve heard. I began with the greenery, creating a base for everything else. Then, I placed the larger blooms, like the dahlias and mums, making sure they were evenly spaced. The berries went in next, adding some texture and interest. I kept stepping back to look at the arrangement as a whole, tweaking things until I was happy with the balance.
I played around with the heights, too. Some flowers were taller, some shorter, creating this sort of cascading effect. I also made sure to rotate the vase as I was arranging, so it looked good from all angles.
Honestly, there’s no right or wrong way to do it. It’s all about what looks good to you! I just kept adding and adjusting until I achieved the look I was going for.
To keep everything looking fresh, I added some flower food to the water. Change the water every couple of days, and you know, remove any dead leaves or petals. That’s the key to keeping them alive as long as possible.
I ended up with three different arrangements. One big centerpiece for the dining table, a smaller one for the coffee table, and a tiny one for the bathroom. The burgundy tones really warmed up the whole house and added a touch of fall magic. Seriously, looking at them makes me feel all cozy inside.
It was a super chill and relaxing project. Anyone can do it, and it’s a great way to add some personality to your home. So, go grab some burgundy flowers and get creative! I promise you won’t regret it.

Here are a couple of random tips that helped me:
- Don’t be afraid to mix different textures and shapes. That’s what makes it interesting!
- Use floral foam if you’re having trouble getting the flowers to stay in place. I didn’t use it this time, but it can be a lifesaver.
- Take breaks! Step back and look at your arrangement from a distance. It’ll help you see things you might have missed up close.
That’s all folks. Hope you liked my little burgundy fall flower adventure!
