My Monty Don-Inspired Tool List

  • A good digging spade: I noticed he always has a sturdy-looking spade for turning over soil.I go for the stainless * really did make a difference.
  • A hand fork: For weeding and breaking up clumps of soil, this seemed essential.
  • A decent pair of secateurs: Monty’s always snipping and pruning.I found a pair that felt comfortable in my hand.
  • A trowel:I go with a solid * planting.
  • A watering can:I get a big one.

I went to my local garden center.I found a spade that felt really solid, with a nice wooden handle. Then, I picked out a hand fork and some secateurs that felt comfortable.

The real test came when I actually started using them.I used the spade to turn over a patch of my garden that I’d been * took some effort, but the soil was turning over.

The hand fork proved super useful for getting rid of some stubborn weeds.I felt like a pro!

I used my new secateurs to trim back some overgrown rose bushes, and it was so satisfying to see the clean cuts.

I also planted a few new flowers, and the trowel makes planting really easy.

Overall, I’m really happy I took the plunge and invested in some better gardening tools. It’s made gardening more enjoyable, and I feel like I’m actually getting better results.
