Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to add a little bit of color to my place now that fall is here. I thought, why not get some indoor flowers? Sounds easy enough, right? Well, let me tell you, it turned into a whole thing.
First, I went to my local nursery, just browsing, you know? I saw so many options. I picked up a few that caught my eye, but honestly, I had no idea what I was doing. I ended up grabbing a couple of chrysanthemum pots because they just screamed “fall” to me with their colors.

Choosing the Right Pots
Next, I realized I needed pots. Oh boy, the pot aisle was overwhelming! So many sizes, materials, and colors. I spent a good 30 minutes just pacing back and forth. Finally, I decided on some simple terracotta pots. Figured they’d go with anything, and they’re good for the plants, or so I read.
Getting My Hands Dirty
Getting home, I laid out all my supplies – the flowers, the pots, a bag of potting soil I picked up, and some gardening gloves. I carefully transferred the plants to their new pots. I made sure to loosen up the roots a bit, like I saw in some video online, then I added in the new soil, patted it down, and watered everything.
Finding the Perfect Spot
Then came the fun part – finding the right spot for them. I moved the pots around my apartment a few times, trying different windowsills and corners. I wanted to make sure they got enough light, but not too much. You know, that whole Goldilocks thing – just right. I finally settled on a spot in my living room that gets a good amount of indirect sunlight. They look so cozy there. I placed the rest of the flowers in the bedroom.
- Chrysanthemums: I got these in a few different colors – yellow, orange, and a deep red. They’re supposed to be pretty easy to care for, which is good for me.
- Some other plants: I don’t know what they are, but they looked pretty.
It’s been a few days now, and so far, so good! My apartment feels so much more vibrant and alive. I’m actually pretty proud of myself. Who knew I had a green thumb? We’ll see how long these beauties last under my care, but for now, I’m enjoying my little indoor fall garden.
