Best Fake Flowers for Window Boxes Reviews (Which Ones are Actually Worth It?)

Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to spruce up my place a bit, and I thought, “What’s a simple way to add some color and life without too much work?” Window boxes! Right? But here’s the thing, I’m not exactly a green thumb. I needed something that looked good but didn’t need me to be constantly watering and tending to it. That’s when I started looking into fake flowers.

I started by searching online, you know, just to get an idea of what was out there. “Best fake flowers for window boxes” is what I typed into the search bar. I saw a bunch of options, but I was mostly drawn to the ones that looked the most realistic. I mean, the whole point was to make it look like I had real plants, right?

My Search for Realistic Fake Flowers

I came across this one brand, Ouddy Decor, that had these artificial lavender flowers. They looked pretty good in the pictures, and they were labeled as being good for window boxes, so I added them to my list. Then I started reading about what makes a good window box. They talked about picking plants that look good together and can handle being in a small space. That got me thinking about what kind of flowers I should get. I didn’t want just lavender, I wanted some variety.

So, I dove deeper. I found this article by a garden designer, Katherine Rowe, who listed some good flowers for window boxes. Of course, she was talking about real plants, but it gave me some ideas for the types of flowers I could look for in artificial versions.

After a while, I had a decent list of potential flowers. I decided to check out a store in person because, you know, seeing them online is one thing, but I wanted to see how they looked up close. I went to Kohl’s, which had a bunch of artificial plants. They had some that were okay, but nothing that really blew me away.

The Selection Process

I didn’t give up, though. I figured, “Hey, if I’m going to do this, I want to do it right.” I went back online and looked at some more options. I compared prices, read reviews, and tried to find the best balance of quality and cost. It was a bit of a process, to be honest. I probably spent way more time than I should have just looking at fake flowers, but I was determined to get it right. I looked at plastic flowers, silk flowers, and everything in between. I wanted some purple ones, some pink ones, some white ones, you name it.

Finally, I narrowed it down to a few sets that I thought would look good together. I ended up ordering a mix of different types and colors. I figured that would give me the best chance of creating a realistic-looking display.

Putting It All Together

When the flowers arrived, I was actually pretty impressed. Some of them looked really good, almost like the real thing. There were a few that were a bit too shiny or plastic-looking, but overall, I was happy with my choices. The next step was to arrange them in the window boxes. I played around with different combinations, trying to make it look natural. I put some taller ones in the back, shorter ones in the front, and mixed the colors to give it some visual interest. It took a bit of trial and error, but eventually, I got it to a point where I was satisfied.

And you know what? It actually turned out pretty great! My window boxes look colorful and lively, and I don’t have to worry about watering them or them wilting in the sun. It’s a win-win. Plus, it really does add some curb appeal to my home. It’s amazing what a few fake flowers can do. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for me. Now, whenever I look at my window boxes, I can’t help but smile. Mission accomplished!
