Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get some new gardening gloves for a while now. My old ones were, well, old. Holes everywhere, not much grip left – you get the picture. I finally decided to bite the bullet and try out those Barebones gardening gloves everyone’s been talking about. Here’s how it went down.
The Hunt Begins
First, I looked around a bit online. Just wanted to see what the options were, you know? Different colors, sizes, that sort of thing. Then, I headed to my local garden center. Always good to see things in person, right?

Getting My Hands On (and In) Them
At the store, I found the Barebones section pretty easily. They had a few different styles, but I went for the classic leather ones. I tried them on – super important! Gotta make sure they fit right. Didn’t want them too tight or too loose.
- Felt the leather – seemed pretty sturdy.
- Checked the stitching – looked solid.
- Made sure my fingers could move easily. All good!
Putting Them to the Test
Back home, I got straight to work in the garden. I had some serious weeding to do, and those gloves were about to face their first challenge. I spent a good few hours pulling weeds, digging in the dirt, and moving some pots around.
Honestly I am very happy when using it.
The Verdict?
After all that, I have to say, I’m pretty impressed. My hands felt protected the whole time. No blisters, no scrapes, and the grip was fantastic, even when things got a little muddy. Plus, they still looked pretty good after all that work – just a bit of dirt, which I easily brushed off.
So far, so good with these Barebones gloves! I’ll definitely keep using them and see how they hold up over time. But for now, I’d say they’re a solid choice if you’re looking for some good, basic gardening gloves.
