Alright, so let me tell you about this whole scorpion situation I had. Moved into a place a while back, thought it was great, you know? Then, bam, started seeing these creepy crawlies. Not just one or two, but like, they were making themselves at home. It was getting on my nerves, big time. Especially with kids around, you just can’t have that.
First, I did what anyone would do, I guess. Went to the store, grabbed some generic bug spray. Sprayed it around, felt pretty proud of myself. Next night? Scorpion on the wall, looking at me like I owed him money. So, that was a bust. Then I heard about those sticky traps. Laid ’em out. Caught a lot of dust, a few unfortunate crickets, but the scorpions? They just walked around them, like they were royalty or something. Totally useless, for me at least.

I was getting pretty fed up. Talked to a neighbor, and he was like, “Oh yeah, scorpions are just part of living here, you gotta get the strong stuff.” He didn’t have a specific brand, just said to look for something that specifically said “scorpion pesticide” and meant business. So, that was my next mission. Found this stuff, the packaging looked like it could stop a rhino, not just some little scorpion. Had all these warnings on it. Made me a bit nervous, not gonna lie.
So, one Saturday, I decided it was D-Day for these scorpions. Here’s what I ended up doing, it was a whole process:
- First, I had to get everything away from the walls, inside and out. Pulled out furniture, cleared off the patio. What a pain.
- Then, I put on gloves, a mask – the whole nine yards. Felt like I was going into a hazardous zone.
- I sprayed all along the outside foundation of the house. Made like a chemical moat.
- Inside, I did the baseboards, around door frames, window sills, and in the garage. The garage was definitely their headquarters, I think.
- The smell was pretty intense. Had to air out the house for hours, kept the pets and kids away for a good while.
The next morning, I did a patrol. Found a few of them. Dead. I was actually pretty relieved. Thought, “Yes! I finally won!” For about a week, it was bliss. No scorpions. I was feeling like a champion exterminator.
But then, wouldn’t you know it, saw a smaller one dart across the kitchen floor. My heart sank a bit. It wasn’t the magic bullet I hoped for. I mean, it definitely helped, a lot. The numbers went way down. But it wasn’t a one-and-done deal. What I learned is that this scorpion pesticide stuff, it’s a tool, a good one, but you gotta be consistent. You have to reapply it, especially after rain if you’re doing the outside. And you gotta keep an eye out, seal up cracks where they might be getting in. It’s more like an ongoing battle than a single victory. So yeah, that was my adventure with scorpion pesticide. Not glamorous, but definitely a learning experience.
