Alright, let me tell you about my little adventure with hearts and flowers plant! It all started last month when I was scrolling through some gardening stuff online. I saw this picture of a plant with heart-shaped leaves and the cutest little flowers. I thought, “I gotta have that!”
So, first things first, I ordered some seeds online. I made sure to read the reviews and pick a reputable seller. When the seeds arrived, they were tiny! I almost lost a few trying to open the packet.

Next, I grabbed a small seed tray and filled it with seed-starting mix. I made sure the soil was nice and moist, but not soaking wet. I poked little holes in the soil, about half an inch deep, and carefully dropped a seed into each one.
After that, I gently covered the seeds with a little bit more soil and gave them a light spritz of water. I then covered the tray with a plastic dome to keep the humidity up.
I placed the tray on a heat mat under a grow light. Gotta keep those babies warm and happy! I checked the soil every day to make sure it stayed moist. It took about a week, but finally, I saw some tiny green sprouts popping up!
Once the seedlings had a few sets of true leaves, I carefully transplanted them into individual pots. I used a well-draining potting mix and made sure to give them plenty of space to grow.
I kept the pots indoors under the grow light for a few more weeks, watering them regularly and fertilizing them with a diluted liquid fertilizer.
Finally, when the weather warmed up and all danger of frost was gone, I hardened them off by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions for a few hours each day.
Then came the big day! I chose a sunny spot in my garden with well-drained soil and carefully planted my hearts and flowers plants. I watered them well and added a layer of mulch to help retain moisture.

For the next few weeks, I just made sure they got plenty of water and kept an eye out for any pests or diseases. And guess what? They started to thrive!
Now, my hearts and flowers plants are covered in beautiful heart-shaped leaves and the cutest little flowers. It was definitely worth the effort! It was quite a process, but seeing them grow from tiny seeds to beautiful plants was so rewarding!
Here’s a few things I learned along the way:
- Don’t overwater! It’s better to underwater than overwater, as overwatering can lead to root rot.
- Be patient! It takes time for seeds to germinate and plants to grow.
- Provide plenty of light! Hearts and flowers plants need at least six hours of sunlight per day.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment! Gardening is all about trial and error.
I’m already thinking about what I’ll plant next! Maybe some sunflowers?
