Okay, so, you wanna talk about pests on orchids? Let me tell you, I’ve been there, done that. It all started when I noticed some sticky stuff on the leaves of my favorite Phalaenopsis. I was like, “What the heck is this?”
At first, I ignored it. Big mistake. HUGE. A few weeks later, I saw tiny little bugs crawling around. That’s when I knew I had a problem.
My Battle Plan
- Step 1: Identification. I grabbed my phone and started googling like crazy. Turns out, I had mealybugs. Those little cottony-looking things are a real pain.
- Step 2: Quarantine. I immediately moved the infected orchid away from all my other plants. Don’t want those little buggers spreading!
- Step 3: Attack! I started by wiping down the leaves with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. It felt a bit like surgery, trying to get into every nook and cranny.
