Okay, so I needed a better way to move heavy stuff around my workshop. I’ve been messing with aluminum for a while now, making small sculptures and stuff, and sometimes the pieces get pretty hefty. My back was starting to complain, so I figured it was time to invest in something to help me out.
I started looking around, and these aluminum hydraulic scissor lift tables caught my eye. They seemed like the perfect solution – lightweight because of the aluminum, but still strong enough to handle a decent amount of weight. Plus, the hydraulic lift part meant I wouldn’t have to do any heavy lifting myself.

My Process
First thing I did was measure my space.
I didn’t want to get a table that was too big and would just be in the way all the time. I also made sure to check the height range – I needed something that could go low enough to easily load stuff onto it, but also high enough to work comfortably at my workbench.
Next up, comparing different models.
There are a surprising number of these things out there! I spent a good chunk of time looking at different weight capacities, platform sizes, and lift speeds. Some had extra features like tilt functions, but I decided to keep it simple. I just needed a basic, reliable lift table.
After Choosing, I found a supplier and order it.
The package is really big and heavy, it took a few days, and when it finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Getting it out of the box was a bit of a workout itself, but once I did, I could see it was built tough.

Time to put this thing to the test.
I started with some smaller aluminum pieces, just to get a feel for how the controls worked. The foot pump was smooth, and the table went up and down nice and easy. Then I gradually increased the weight, and it handled everything like a champ.
The assemble is easy.
- Unpack the whole set.
- Find the hydraulic part.
- Just put them together.
Now, this lift table is a game-changer in my workshop.
I can move heavy materials around without breaking a sweat, and I can adjust the height to whatever I’m working on. My back is definitely thanking me, and I’m kicking myself for not getting one of these sooner!
