Okay, here’s my blog post about caring for my Dieffenbachia Camille, written from my personal experience:
So, I got this Dieffenbachia Camille a while back, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey figuring out how to keep it happy. I’m no plant expert, just someone who likes having greenery around, so this is all based on what I’ve learned along the way.

Getting Started
First thing I did was repotted it. It came in one of those flimsy plastic pots from the store, and I knew it needed something a bit more substantial. I picked a pot that was just a couple of inches bigger than the original one, with good drainage holes. Don’t want those roots sitting in water!
Finding the Right Spot
Light-wise, this plant has been a bit picky. I initially put it in a super bright spot, thinking all plants love tons of sun, right? Wrong! The leaves started getting these weird, pale patches. So, I moved it to a spot with indirect light. It’s now a few feet away from a window, and it seems much happier.
Watering Woes (and Wins!)
Watering… oh boy, this was a learning curve. I used to water it whenever I remembered, which was a terrible idea. The leaves started turning yellow and droopy. Then, I started sticking my finger in the soil. If it felt dry about an inch or two down, I’d water it. If it was still damp, I’d wait. That made a HUGE difference.
Humidity Help
I also noticed the leaf tips were getting a little crispy. I live in a pretty dry area, so I figured it needed more humidity. I don’t have a humidifier, so I just started grouping it with my other plants. Seems to be helping!
- Repotted to a larger pot with good drainage.
- Provided it indirect light.
- Watered when the top inch or two of soil is dry.
- Increased humidity around it.
The Results
It’s been a few months now, and my Dieffenbachia Camille is actually doing pretty well! It’s putting out new leaves, and the color is much more vibrant. I still get the occasional yellow leaf, but it’s nothing like before. I feel like I’m finally getting the hang of it. It is not hard and I can do it!
So, that’s my Dieffenbachia Camille care story. Hope this helps anyone else who’s trying to keep one of these beauties alive and thriving!
