Plant Hanging Lights Guide: Simple Tips for Indoor Gardens!

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to add some greenery to my living room, and I thought, why not combine plants with lighting? I decided to make some plant hanging lights, and let me tell you, it was easier than I expected!

Gathering My Supplies

First, I grabbed some basic hanging light fixtures. Nothing fancy, just the plain ones with a single socket. Then I picked out some pots that would fit nicely inside the light shades. I made sure the pots had drainage holes, because, you know, plants need to drain. I also got some sturdy hooks and chains to hang everything from the ceiling.

Choosing the Right Plants

This was the fun part! I went to my local nursery and wandered around. I knew I needed plants that could handle lower light conditions, since they wouldn’t be getting direct sunlight. I ended up with a couple of pothos, a spider plant, and a cute little fern. They all looked pretty resilient, which is good because I’m not exactly known for my green thumb.

Putting it All Together

First I attach the light fixture to the pot, then I screwed the hooks into the ceiling joists. I made double sure they were secure because I didn’t want any accidents. Next, I attached the chains to the hooks and the light fixtures.

  • Checked chain length and pot height.
  • Adjusted to find the best view.

I potted my plants, carefully placing them inside the light shades.I gently arranged the plants inside, making sure they had enough room to grow.I added some wiring, making sure the plants are secure.

The Final Result

Honestly, it looks amazing! The plants add such a nice, natural touch to the room, and the light filtering through the leaves creates a really cool, calming effect. It’s like having little glowing green orbs hanging from my ceiling. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and it was a surprisingly simple project!
