Okay, so, today I was fiddling around with this crossword, yeah? The theme was “gardening tools,” and let me tell you, it was a bit of a head-scratcher at first. I mean, I’m no green thumb, but I figured, how hard could it be, right? Famous last words.
I started out pretty confident, got a few easy ones. Like, three letters, starts with an ‘H’? That’s gotta be “Hoe”, yeah? Wrote that in, felt like a champ. Then, four letters, starts with ‘R’? Bam, “Rake”. I’m on a roll, I’m thinking.

My Progress
- So, I am cruising along, feeling good. Got “Hoe” and “Rake” down, no problem.
- Then I hit a six-letter word. Blanked out for a bit. Stared at it, chewed my pen, the whole nine yards. Eventually, it hit me: “Trowel”! That was a relief, let me tell you.
But then, things got tricky. I hit a real roadblock with a five-letter one, starts with ‘E’. “Edger,” maybe? Tried it, and it fit! Felt like a genius, not gonna lie. There’s also this other six-letter word, and the only thing I could think of is “DIBBLE”. After I plugged it in, I felt a bit uncertain, but I just moved on.
The rest of it, though? Total mystery. These longer words, 14 letters, even seven letters, were just a jumble. I tried a bunch of stuff, but nothing seemed to work. I guess there are way more gardening tools out there than I thought! Or maybe I just need to brush up on my gardening vocab.
Anyway, I thought I’d share my little adventure. Maybe you guys have some ideas for those longer words? Or maybe you’re just as clueless as me! Either way, it was a fun little brain teaser. I even learned some words I did not know before. But I gotta say, gardening’s got a whole language of its own. Who knew?
