Why Are My Marijuana Plants Leaves Turning Yellow? Simple Guide to Fix It!

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with growing some weed at home, and things were going pretty smoothly until I noticed something weird. Some of the leaves on my plants started turning yellow. I was like, “What the heck is going on?” because I thought I was doing everything right.

I started digging around, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Turns out, there are a bunch of reasons why this can happen. It’s not just one thing, which made it a bit of a headache to diagnose. I went through a whole checklist of stuff.

Why Are My Marijuana Plants Leaves Turning Yellow? Simple Guide to Fix It!

First, I checked the pH of the water I was using. I remembered reading somewhere that weed plants are picky about their pH levels. If the pH is off, it can mess with how the plants absorb nutrients. So, I got myself one of those pH testing kits – felt like a real scientist for a minute there – and tested the water. It was a bit off, so I adjusted it using some pH up and down solutions. It was kind of a balancing act, but I managed to get it within the right range.

Next, I looked into how I was watering the plants. I realized I might have been overdoing it a bit. It’s like, you don’t want to drown the poor things, but you don’t want them to dry out either. It is important to have a proper wet-dry cycle, I guess. I started being more careful, letting the soil dry out a bit between waterings. I’d stick my finger in the soil up to my knuckle, and if it felt dry, it was time to water. It is kind of a simple rule, but it is helpful.

  • Checked the pH level of the water and adjusted it accordingly.
  • Adjusted the watering schedule to ensure a proper wet-dry cycle.

I also checked for bugs. I know pests can weaken plants, and you may see some yellow leaves. I don’t see any pests, and I’m keeping an eye on them now.

After making these changes, I kept a close eye on my plants. It took a little while, but I started noticing some improvement. The yellowing didn’t get worse, and some of the new growth started looking healthier. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but it felt good to see that I was on the right track.

My takeaways

Growing weed is definitely a learning process. I think I was so scared of losing them I ended up doing too much. You gotta find that sweet spot with watering and nutrients, and the pH thing is way more important than I realized. I’m still learning, but it’s been a fun experiment so far. Hopefully, I’ll have some nice, green, healthy plants soon!
