Cool plants small pots that are low maintenance tips
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

You know, I’ve always loved having a bit of green around the house. But I don’t have a big yard or anything, so I’ve gotten into growing plants in small pots. It’s actually pretty fun, and I wanted to share my little journey with you guys.

First off, I started with picking out the pots. I went to a local store and just grabbed a bunch of small, colorful ones that caught my eye. Nothing fancy, just whatever looked nice and had a drainage hole at the bottom. That’s important, you don’t want the roots to sit in water.

Cool plants small pots that are low maintenance tips

Next up was choosing the plants. I did a bit of reading online and found that some plants do better in pots than others. Succulents are a good choice. And some begonias, they call them painted-leaf begonias. They look cool. So, I picked up a few of those, some other stuff like purple fountain grass, rose, rosemary, garden sage, winter jasmine, fuchsia, Japanese maple that seemed easy enough to take care of.

  • Went to the store, bought some small pots.
  • Looked up some easy-to-grow plants for pots online.
  • Picked a few succulents, begonias, and some other stuff.

Getting Them Planted

Then came the planting part. I got some potting soil from the same store and started filling up the pots. I made sure to leave some space at the top. Then I carefully took each plant out of its original container, loosened the roots a bit, and put them in their new homes. Filled up the rest of the pot with soil, and that was it. I gave them a good watering to help them settle in. Oh, and I also put some small stones on top of the soil in some pots. It just makes it look a bit nicer, I think.

Keeping Them Happy

Now, keeping them alive is the real trick. I’ve learned that each plant has its own little needs. Some like more sun, some like it a bit shadier. So I move them around the house depending on the season. Watering is important too. I try not to overwater them, just enough to keep the soil moist. I also give them some plant food every now and then, just to make sure they get all the nutrients they need.

It’s been a few months now, and most of my little plants are doing great! A couple didn’t make it, but hey, that’s part of the learning process. It’s really satisfying to see them grow and add a bit of life to my place. Plus, it’s a nice little hobby that doesn’t take up too much time or space.

If you’re thinking about getting into plants but don’t have much space, I’d say go for it! It’s a fun and rewarding experience. Just start small, learn as you go, and enjoy the process. You don’t need to be a plant expert to have a few cute little pots around.
