Okay, so let me tell you about my whole journey with this fertility clinic thing – the Western Fertility Institute in Encino. It all started because, you know, my partner and I had been trying to have a baby for a while, with no luck. It was getting pretty stressful, so we decided it was time to get some professional help.
First thing I did was hit up Google. I just typed in “fertility clinics near me” and scrolled through a bunch of places. The Western Fertility Institute caught my eye ’cause their reviews were pretty good – like 4.5 stars on Google and WebMD. So, I thought, “Why not give them a shot?”

I called them up. Their number is (818) 292-2242, by the way. The person on the phone was super nice and helpful. They got me scheduled for an initial consultation, which was great. They’re located at 16260 Ventura Blvd, Suite 210, which was a bit of a drive, but I figured it was worth it.
When I got there, the place was really nice and clean, which I appreciated. The staff were all friendly and made me feel pretty comfortable. I met with Dr. Ashim Kumar, who’s apparently the main guy there. He was really thorough, asking about our medical history and all that. He explained all the different tests they could do and what our options were. I have to admit that I don’t understand the difference between those options very well, and I get very confused when I think about them.
We decided to go ahead with some tests. They checked out both me and my partner to see what might be going on. It was a bit of a process, but they guided us through every step. It was a relief to finally get some answers.
- They did some blood work on me.
- My partner had to do a, you know, sample thing.
- I also had this ultrasound thing to check out my uterus and ovaries.
Turns out, I had something called endometriosis, which the doctor said could be making it harder to get pregnant. Apparently, it’s pretty common, like 50% of fertility issues are linked to it, or something like that. Who knew?
The Treatment Plan
Based on the test results, Dr. Kumar laid out a treatment plan for us. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, which I really appreciated. Since we’d been trying for over a year and I’m under 35, he recommended we move forward fairly quickly.
So yeah, that’s where we’re at now. We’re still in the middle of the whole process, but I feel a lot better knowing we’re in good hands. The people at Western Fertility Institute have been really supportive and professional the whole time. I’ll keep you guys updated on how it all goes!
