5 blade scissors: Are they worth it? A quick guide!

Okay, so I bought these 5 blade scissors the other day. You know, the kind that has like five blades all stacked together? I saw them online and thought, “Why not? Might be handy.” I’ve always been that guy who loves testing out new kitchen gadgets, especially if they promise to save time.

First off, I tried cutting some green onions. Normally, I use a knife, and it takes a bit to get them all chopped up fine. With these scissors, I just took a few snips, and bam, the green onions were perfectly sliced. It felt super quick, which is great when you’re in a rush.

Then, I moved on to other veggies. I grabbed some bell peppers and carrots. Now, these scissors aren’t really meant for thick stuff, but I wanted to see what they could do. The bell peppers were okay, I cut them into strips first, then used the scissors. It wasn’t as smooth as the green onions, but it worked. The carrots were tougher – I had to press down harder, and it felt a bit awkward. I guess you can’t expect miracles with every type of vegetable.

  • Snip green onions
  • Try bell peppers
  • Test carrots
  • Attempt with cheese
  • Cut paper for fun

Next, I got curious and tried grating some cheese. I figured, why not, right? It was a block of cheddar, and I tried to snip at it. It kind of worked, but it wasn’t like using a grater. The cheese came out in uneven chunks, but hey, it was something different. I even tried slicing some fruit – an apple, to be exact. I had to cut the apple into smaller pieces first, then use the scissors. It worked, but it wasn’t super efficient. I think a regular knife is still better for fruits.

After all that, I decided to test these scissors on something completely different – paper. I had a stack of old documents I needed to shred, and I thought, “Let’s see.” I started snipping away, and it was actually pretty fun. The paper cut really well, and it was way faster than tearing it by hand. I ended up shredding a whole bunch of papers just because I could.

So, after messing around with these 5 blade scissors, I’d say they’re pretty cool for certain things. They’re awesome for herbs and green onions, decent for softer veggies, but not great for hard stuff or grating cheese. And hey, they can shred paper like a champ! It’s not a must-have, but it’s a fun tool to have around. I feel them pretty handy when I just need to cut a small mount of herbs.

My Conclusion

In the end, these scissors have found a place in my kitchen. They’re not going to replace my knives, but they’re definitely a handy addition. If you like trying out new kitchen tools, give them a shot. Just don’t expect them to do everything perfectly.
